1920s art deco floral print tea dress. This is a rare thing indeed these days and we don't see so many of these wonderful fluid georgette dresses anymore. This one has a particularly fine art deco floral print in reds, oranges, yellow and green against a lilac background. It has a really sweet bateau collar with a frill and a wide drop waistband that has a double row of frills. The skirt has an unusual shape bottom flounce in that it is not an even cut all the way across; its more of a crescent shape where it is shorter at the sides and longest at the bottom. This has the effect of producing a ruffle hemline; best viewed in the side profile shot which completes the long bottom tier of the dress.

In extraordinary vintage condition for her age and we don't note any faults at all with the garment nor any repairs or alterations. It's not labelled but this is no homemade dress and is probably from a very good British or French atelier. Structurally very sound and she can safely be worn with care. As there are no fastenings and it just slips on over the head, we recommend a best fit for UK sizes 8-10 or US 4-6.
